These terms apply to your use of eptalights.com, the website of Eptalights Research. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use it.

What these terms cover

They cover this website only. Our products, EptaKode and EptaData, are governed by the terms on their own sites. Research and engineering engagements are governed by the written agreement we sign with each client; if that agreement conflicts with this page, the agreement wins.

Information, not advice

The pages and notes here describe our work and our views. They are general information, not professional, legal or security advice for your system. Technical details are simplified and can go out of date. Test anything before you rely on it, and take advice that fits your situation.

No engagement without an agreement

Describing a service on this site is not an offer to provide it. Booking a call does not create a client relationship, a confidentiality obligation or an agreement to do work. Those start only when both sides sign an agreement. Until then, please do not send us confidential or sensitive material.

Intellectual property

The writing, design, logos and other content on this site belong to Eptalights Research or its licensors. You may quote short passages with a link back to the source. For anything more, ask first. Code we publish in a public repository carries the licence in that repository, and that licence takes precedence over this page.

Acceptable use

Do not use the site to break the law, to interfere with it or with its hosting (including scanning it for vulnerabilities without permission, overloading it, or attempting to gain unauthorized access), or to scrape it in a way that degrades it for others. If you find a security problem on the site, tell us through the link below before you disclose it, and we will work with you in good faith.

Third-party links and services

The site links to other websites and services, including our product sites and our scheduling page on Calendly. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

No warranty

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Eptalights Research is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Changes

We may update these terms and the site at any time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
